Realme UI 8.0 Update: Features, Eligible Devices, And Release Date
With Realme now being a sub-brand of Oppo, its software now shares the same DNA as ColorOS and OxygenOS.The lines between Realme, Oppo, and OnePlus software have been blurred. Realme UI 8.0 is shaping up to be a major update with visual changes and cool new AI features. From Lockscreen Island to new frosted glass design, here’s everything coming with the Realme UI 8.0 update.

Realme UI 8.0 Update Features
1. Lockscreen Island

One of the major features coming with Realme UI 8 is Lockscreen Island. This pill-shaped bar sits at the bottom of your lockscreen and works similarly to Samsung’s Now Bar. You get media controls, navigation, delivery updates, and more. Swiping up on the lockscreen island expands the details. So if you are listening to music, it will show the expanded media controls, media art, and lyrics. You can even stack multiple apps, something which Samsung’s Now Bar doesn’t allow.
2. Frosted Glass and Floating Bar

While Realme UI 7.0 copied Liquid Glass from iOS 26, Realme UI 8.0 will move towards a frosted glass effect. It also takes a page from Apple’s notebook with floating bars at the bottom of every app. That being said, here are all the changes coming with the Realme UI 8.0 update:
- Settings: A new floating search bar now appears in the Settings. Also, the icons are now rounded, and you get a glass effect across the UI
- Notification Panel: Notifications are now more rounded with a prominent glass effect in the notification shade.
- Control Panel: While Realme UI 7 introduced a transparent glass effect in the quick settings, Realme UI 8 makes it slightly translucent with a frosted glass finish.
- File Manager: The file manager app has been slightly redesigned, with larger elements in the File Management menu. You also get a floating bar at the bottom and 3D icons.
- Clock: The clock app is also cleaner than before,e and you now get a single + button at the bottom for adding new alarms
- Phone Manager: There is a new 3D look with textured glow in the background.
- Contacts: It has pill-shaped icons now with a floating bar at the bottom.
3. Textured Visual Effect

Just like ColorOS 17 and OxygenOS 17, Realme UI 8 is bringing new textured visual effects. Available in the settings, these three visual effects will upgrade your experience:
- Visual Blur: Adds real-time blur across the notification panel, quick settings, and home screen folders
- Contour Glow: Home Screen, Lock Screen, Quick Settings, and the rest of the UI now have a more refined lighting effect.
- Animation Blur: When you launch or exit an app, icons and wallpaper get blurred in the background.
4. New Features
Realme UI 8.0 update could bring cool AI features, putting them in the spotlight. Realme UI currently doesn’t have Mindspace, an AI hub found in OxygenOS and ColorOS. Maybe we will see something similar in the Realme UI 8.0 update. Some rumours hint at a Study Mode that locks down social media and gaming apps to help you focus. There could also be an enhanced gaming mode similar to the one found on OnePlus and Oppo phones. Last but not least, we could see a full-fledged video editor built into the gallery for content creators.

5. More Flux Themes
Realme UI 7.0 brought Flux Themes 2.0, which took lockscreen customization to the next level. From live wallpapers to funky customizable clocks, it was a huge leap in terms of user customization. Realme UI 8.0 could introduce Flux Themes 3.0 with more live wallpapers, more clocks, better AOD options, and more.
6. Smoother Animations And Improved Performance
Realme UI 8.0 update will offer smoother animations, especially when you open or close any app. You also get a frosted blur effect when swiping up and down the notification panel. Another noticeable change is the warp zoom animation when you change something on the homescreen. With Android 17’s generational garbage collection feature, the CPU gets more headspace for managing apps in memory. Also, rogue apps can no longer consume all your memory in the background.
7. Airdrop Support and iPhone Integration in O+ Connect

Airdrop support is finally coming to Realme phones with the Realme UI 8.0 update. This means you no longer need to depend on the Share with iPhone feature for transferring files. Also, if you have an iPhone as your primary, you can now sync calls and notifications with your Realme phone using the O+ Connect app. It lets you use your Realme device as your secondary phone.
